Nana's Recipes Refrigerator Cake and Peach - Fruit Cobbler

(Recipe recorded by Nell Farrar White 1960's)

This is a very interesting cake recipe! I'm not sure it's one that would be made today, given the yolks are raw, however it might be okay with the acidity of the pineapple. What are your thoughts?
I do believe I will try the Peach/Fruit Cobbler. This recipe does sound good.

Refrigerator Cake
1 cup butter
2 egg yolks
1 cup nuts (chopped)
1 lb vanilla wafers
2 cups sugar
1 can crushed pineapple
1 tsp vanilla

Cream butter and sugar, beat until fluffy adding eggs one at a time. Add nuts and vanilla. Pack in a pan alternating a layer of wafers and a layer of mixture. Pack firmly and store in refrigerator overnight. Serve cold with whipped cream.

Peach-Fruit Cobbler
1 cup Flour
Pinch of salt
2/3 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1 tsp Baking Powder
(This mixture -of 5 ingredients - makes dough)
1 can peaches or any fruits. Mixed with 1 cup sugar
1 stick of butter melted in bottom of (baking) dish pour fruit over butter (do not mix)
Pour cake batter over the fruit. Adding 1 cup of sugar on top. Bake 300º oven 45 minutes.
